Guys For Life Takes ACTION to reach Joe like never before!
“Art and media are the means and bridge over which the current philosophy of the philosophers reaches the general culture.” “Whoever controls the media controls the culture.” Francis Schaeffer - How Should We Then Live?
“...a year of research shows the leading influencers in American society to be movies, television, the Internet, books, music... The Christian church is not among the top dozen influences these days...” -- Barna research findings
Partnering with
Advent Film Group Guys For Life will begin developing, producing and distributing the "Reconciled Movie Project" a full length feature film released in theaters nationwide directly targeted to "Joe". We believe, one of the most effective means to reach Joe is through the media of film and cinema . It is a story is about two men, best friends, each dealing with unplanned pregnancies and its aftermath. Will commitment triumph over convenience?
Making a movie is major undertaking. It will require financial, logistical, and material resources from a community dedicated to seeing lives changed and lives saved. It will require help from
you.
In return you will see how a movie gets made from the ground up. You will experience God moving in powerful ways during the production and release of this movie. You will learn new skills, be challenged as never before, and be rewarded when audiences are touched by your handiwork. Be sure to sign up and we will send you the full information.
"...All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation:
that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them.
And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation." 2 Corinthians 5:18-19

Reconciled tells the story of Nick and Steve, best friends since birth whose predictable lives are radically turned upside down when each man faces an unplanned pregnancy. Nick, a bright and shining star from the inner city, skips college and prepares to take ownership of his fathers automotive business near the city of St. Louis. He discovers his girlfriend is pregnant while laying the foundational cornerstone of his own personal life. Steve, who comes from an upscale community, is climbing the corporate ladder at his father’s CPA firm. After college Steve finds himself fighting the image of being a “Daddy’s Boy” and learns his newly-wed wife is pregnant before he’s ready to give up all he has so heartily worked to establish. Nick & Steve’s relationship is brought to the edge of destruction as each friend tries supporting the other guy while not having a clue how to handle the situation himself. As a result of succumbing to the pressure of an ideal life, one of these men will be responsible for ending the life of his unborn child. The other will choose life for his little one and take a leap of tremendous faith. All seems hopelessly lost in this traumatic situation where a child is taken by abortion, a budding couple will split, close-knit families will be wounded and two of the best friend’s hearts will need serious repair. Despite a broken-hearted journey through a valley of heartache and sorrow a calling from deep within the hearts of wounded souls will come. It’s an almost untracable faint yet ever growing calling deep within the heart of Christ. He’s calling - and someone will hear Him...
Should you and I leave a message of hope in an unplanned pregnancy [or any key moral decisions] to Hollywood in hopes that the media moguls produce qaulity entertainment that calls men to rise above? The plain and simple answer is "NO". Yet, look what happens when you and I do leave Hollywood in control of a message of hope.
Knocked Up - Released June 1st of 2007 this movie was one of Hollywood's attempt at acknowledging, but not endorsing, a Pro-Life message. Using the backdrop of a couple who experiences a one night stand that end up pregnant this R-Rated comedy spins a message that having sex, getting pregnant "could" lead to a good life. FOOD FOR THOUGHT With a production budget of $30 million and a total worldwide sales of $219 million, what could a net profit of $189 million dollars done to advance the cause of LIFE in the hands of Kingdom lead ministries like Guys For Life and other leading Pro-Life ministries? Think about it.
Knocked Up Totals:
Domestic: $148,768,917

Juno - Released in December of 2007 Juno was another attempt of Hollywood acknowledging, but not endorsing, a Pro-Life message. Unlike Knocked Up the movie Juno was not laced with over 120 uses of the F-word dragging the audience through muck and mire only to shine for seconds. Unfortunately, Juno holds firm to a moral relativism that only hints of a Pro-Life message never really landing a solid foundation as to why life is precious and in need of protection. FOOD FOR THOUGHT With a production budget of $7.5 million and a total worldwide sales of $231 million, what could a net profit of $223.5 million dollars done to advance the cause of LIFE in the hands of Kingdom lead ministries like Guys For Life and other leading Pro-Life ministries? Think about it.

These last three years have seen tremendous growth in micro-budget film making. As an addition to success of Come What May and Advent Film Group we would like to highlight three films made by Christians.
It all started back in 2003 with the Kendrick brothers, Alex & Stephen. Two Christian Filmmakers who had a vision that the quality messages of Life should not be left up to Hollywood. Then came Eduardo Verastegui and Metanoia Films with "Bella"

Flywheel is the story of a used car salesman who strong arms customers and ends up selling them lemons. He makes a few bucks yet looses many customers and friends along the way. After receiving a challenge to give his business over to God, he wrestles with the thought of the impact God could have upon his business. Finally in the end he can't fight God any longer. After much consideration he gives over his business to God and something amazing happens.

- "There was a goodness in this movie that actually touched my very soul." – Father Demetrios Carellas
"For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb." (Psalm 139:13)
With his mother a lawyer and his father a professor, Caleb Hogan has grown up understanding the importance of stating his case, backing it with facts and choosing what's right...come what may. This ability served him well during his internship at his mother's law firm, and it has guided him to the college with the best Moot Court team. But has it prepared him to deal with a collision-course with the most important legal issue of our time?
When does life really begin? Coming face-to-face with the realities and legalities of the abortion issue—both in preparation for the National Moot Court championship and as his mother prepares to argue a high-profile case before the Supreme Court—Caleb must decide what he truly believes. Wherever he lands, there will be consequences. If he takes the pro-life argument, he stands to lose the most important competition of his life, along with the support of his mother. If he follows his mother's lead, he could win the coveted title but lose the heart of his teammate, Rachel, in the process.
Along with her professor and classmates, Rachel not only understands the strength of the pro-life argument; she believes them to her core. Life, from its beginning, exists to honor God. For Rachel, that plays out in her Moot Court arguments and her daily life. Can Caleb find that same conviction? Will he win Rachel's heart? While compromise might be the easiest solution, it could also be the most dangerous.
COME WHAT MAY is a vivid reminder that choosing what's right is never easy...but it's always worth the cost.
Guys For Life held a series of 4 events in 3 days April 24th through the 26th inviting to St. Louis the director of Come What May, George Escobar along with the two lead actors Austin Kearney and Victoria Emmons.
